Sunshine

Today I went out to Brighton with a large group from university. It was the most gorgeous day out, sunny and actually warm! In case you don't know, Brighton is on the South coast of Great Britain and has a large gay community. Back in the day the city was a popular destination for people looking to get treatment for gout. They would not only bathe in the sea water, but also drink it in medical concoctions. There is a large pier with carnival attractions, such as games and rides. The water looked absolutely beautiful, as well as the pebble covered beach.

We didn't go on any rides, but Claire and I did have a photoshoot!

For lunch we all had our first taste of fish and chips here in England-- THEY WERE SO GOOD!
I just about drowned mine in vinegar. After lunch we got to tour the Royal Pavilion of George the Prince of Wales, later King George IV. Spanning the years of 1775-1818, George developed what was once a small, quaint four room farmhouse into a extravagant, East Asian inspired palace. The Pavilion looks extremely out of place in Brighton, but it is gorgeous none-the-less. The outside architecture is Indian inspired, while the interior and decorations are China inspired. There is an extreme amount of history behind this building, but I do not want to bore you all with the information. It's quite interesting though, so read up!

Sorry no pictures of the inside, it was prohibited. After the tour I got some ice cream with my mates and walked around. Brighton is such a great place to be, and I am so happy that we got nice weather!

"But friendship is precious, not only in the shade, but in the sunshine of life, and thanks to a benevolent arrangement, the greater part of life is sunshine." -- Thomas Jefferson

peace out girl scouts.
